Penny’s Story

I’m 57 years old and I was looking for good muscle tone and core strength to allow me to be physically active for as long as I can. I’ve always been athletic and did follow a strength training program while in university, but that was a long time ago. I’m also pretty sure that I didn’t execute each exercise as correctly as I should have, and may have foolishly increased the weights before my body was ready, potentially causing more harm than good. Even though I’m fairly motivated and willing to work hard, I want to make sure I’m getting the most benefit from the effort I put in, and I certainly don’t want to put any undue strain on my joints! That’s why I contacted Heather at TGIF Fitness and Conditioning. Heather keeps me honest. She insists on good form and correct execution of each exercise, ensuring that the appropriate muscles are being strengthened. She helps you become aware of the muscles that stabilize one part of your body, so that you can actually work the muscles you are supposed to. Without that initial guidance, it’s really easy to mess up the exercise and put stress on things you shouldn’t. Once you’ve got the exercise right, you can confidently increase the intensity. What’s even better is the convenience of in-home training. You really don’t need much in the way of equipment to have a great work out. In the first four weeks of training with Heather, I was able to lose almost 10% body fat! Love it!

Thanks, Heather!

Dane’s Story

I came to TGIF Fitness and Conditioning, not so much in the hopes of increasing my fitness level, but to find a way to relieve my lower back pain. I have a very physical job and it puts a lot of stress on my body. I am only 21 years old, but I know if I don’t fix this now, I’m going to have big problems in the future. In conjunction with seeing a chiropractor regularly, I have my trainer come to my house and help me with core strengthening exercises and loads of stretching. I love my job and TGIF Fitness and Conditioning is going to help me keep at it for a long time!

I contacted TGIF Fitness and Conditioning because I really needed to get in shape. It is soooo easy to ‘do it to-morrow’ , when you are trying to exercise by yourself, however, with the inspiration, the motivation and the direction from my trainer, I am able to keep my goals, foremost, in a daily and weekly focus. My trainer, Heather, provides me with excellent motivation, along with the knowledge that helps me to understand why I am doing certain exercises and how I can best execute the stretches and exercises. Because of my osteoporosis (I am 63 yrs. old!), I need to concentrate on building and strengthening my core muscles to give me the strength I will need in the future. Heather has personally designed my program, adapted to my present abilities, and as I am improving is able to provide diverse training exercises by introducing new exercises in my workouts! Every session is exciting and challenging!
Heather and TGIF, thank you for your guidance and direction!
