 How to stretch you Gluteus Medius:

  • Start sitting.
  • Bend the left leg as if you were going to sit cross legged.
  • Cross right foot over the left thigh.
  • Pull the right knee into the chest, and up towards the left shoulder
  • Twist your upper body slightly, to help bring the left shoulder towards the right knee.
  • Keep the back straight, by pushing the tailbone out behind you, and the chest out in front. Sit up as tall as you can.
  • If this stretch is too difficult, straighten the left leg out in front of your body.
  • You should feel this stretch in the glute (bum) muscles on the right side of your body.
  • Hold the stretch for 30 seconds, then repeat with the other leg.
