How to stretch your chest muscles:

  • Stand the length of your upper arm away from a doorframe, pole, etc.
  • Place your forearm on the  “wall”, keeping your elbow at shoulder level
  • Take a small step forward with the leg that is closest to the “wall”
  • Press the chest forward, and twist away from the “wall”
  • Keep the shoulder down durning the stretch
  • Hold the stretch for 30 seconds and repeat with the other arm

What you should feel when stretching your chest muscles:

  • The chest, or pectoral muscles run from the center of the chest, also known as the sternum, to the shoulder. If you are stretching the pec muscles, you will feel a stretch from the sternum, across the chest, and into the front of the shoulder.
